Welcome to Gift Ripple

Gift Ripple was created by a parent who wanted to make children's celebrations more meaningful.

Instead of receiving lots of unwanted gifts that may never be used, Gift Ripple helps family and friends come together to give something a child will genuinely enjoy, remember and value.

Everything we do is guided by three simple principles:

• Children come first. Whenever we make a decision, the safety and wellbeing of children, including any information about them, will always take priority over content, convenience or commercial interests.
• Kindness matters. Gift Ripple exists to bring people together to celebrate life's special moments with generosity, respect and thoughtfulness.
• Meaning over waste. We believe that meaningful gifts, experiences and opportunities create happier memories and less unnecessary waste.

These Community & Safety Guidelines explain how we can all work together to make Gift Ripple a safe, positive and trusted place for everyone who interacts with Gift Ripple and should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Defined terms in these Community & Safety Guidelines have the meanings set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Be genuine

• Only create Gift Ripple Collections for genuine celebrations.
• Make sure the information you provide is accurate and truthful.
• Do not pretend to be someone else or create a Gift Ripple Collection without the permission of the recipient’s parent or legal guardian where the recipient is under the age of 18.

Protect children’s privacy

• Before uploading information about a child, ask yourself whether it is something you would be happy for your own family and friends to see. If it isn’t necessary, it’s usually best not to include it.
• Please only upload photographs that help family and friends celebrate a child’s special moment. Avoid sharing more information than is necessary.
• Never upload anything that could embarrass, exploit or place a child at risk.

Be kind and respectful

• Messages should be thoughtful, respectful and appropriate for children and their families.
• Do not post anything that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, offensive or likely to upset others.

Keep Gift Ripple safe

Do not use Gift Ripple to:

• commit fraud;
• mislead contributors;
• raise money for unlawful purposes;
• upload harmful software;
• interfere with the operation of our Platform; or
• attempt to access another person’s account.

Respect other people’s privacy

• Only upload photographs, videos or messages if you have the right and appropriate consents from everyone in them (or their parents or guardians if under 18) to do so.
• Please respect the privacy of everyone using Gift Ripple.

If something doesn’t look right

If you see content or behaviour that concerns you, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting fiona@giftripple.com.

We review all reports carefully and may remove content or suspend accounts where necessary to help keep Gift Ripple safe.
